Cerro Imbabura, located in the province of Imbabura, Ecuador, is a dormant volcano that reaches 4,630 meters in height. This mountain is a cultural and natural icon of the region, surrounded by indigenous villages, such as Otavalo and Cotacachi. The area offers hiking trails that cross Andean landscapes, with impressive views of the San Pablo and Yahuarcocha lakes. In addition to its geological appeal, Imbabura has great cultural and spiritual importance for local communities, who consider it a sacred mountain.
- Departure 07:00 a.m. Quito.
- Travel by the Panamericana North towards Ibarra.
- Arrival at the parking lot located at (3,700 meters high).
- Explanation by the guide for hiking up, 4 hours approx.
- Time for photography, rest, hydration and box lunch.
- Hiking down 3 hours approx.
- Return to Quito.
