Quito is a city rich in history and culture, being the first World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO in 1978. Its Historic Center is the best preserved in Latin America, with more than 130 heritage buildings, including churches, convents, museums and colonial squares.

Quito’s gastronomy is influenced by its indigenous and Spanish heritage, offering a fusion of unique flavors. Iconic dishes such as locro de papas, a creamy potato and cheese soup, are part of the local offering.

Quito, being surrounded by the Andes, has a rich and varied biodiversity. Nearby areas such as the Cotopaxi National Park and the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve allow visitors to explore the Andean flora, with species such as the chuquiragua, the frailejón and the polylepis forests, known as paper trees.
